Panther’s Run® Golf Links Reopens with Brand New MiniVerde™ Greens.
One of the area’s all-time favorite golf courses is set to reopen this month with 18 brand new greens. The putting surfaces at Panther’s Run Golf Links, one of the Big Cats courses of Ocean Ridge Plantation, have been converted to brand new MiniVerde™ ultra-dwarf greens, which feature an unmatched combination of smooth, consistent playability and disease-resistant, heat-tolerant durability.
The course has been closed since June 1, during which time the old putting surfaces were removed and, in many cases, the individual greens were restored to their original size and shape. New greens mix was added and the contours were “floated” back in bedore the MiniVerde™ sprigs were planted. After considerable special attention by Head Greens’ Superintendent Scott Novak and his staff, the new greens are now ready to be unveiled and shown off to the public. MiniVerde™ is one of the newest of the ultra dwarf grasses and is currently being used at many of the nation’s top golf facilities, including the TPC Course at Sawgrass, home of the PGA Tour’s THE PLAYERS® championship.
Panther’s RunGolf Links opened in 1994 and has hosted many prestigious tournaments and events, including The GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship, the world’s largest amateur golf tournament. For additional information, visit Ocean Ridge Plantation Golf’s website at www.bigcatsgolf.com.
